Early Work

The first series body of photographs I put together was made using an Anzsco 5x7 from WWII. I spent the next year and a half photographing in Commerce City, CO, between 1995-1996, printing platinum/palladium on Cranes Platinotype paper. I experimented with different developers and salting combinations, mixing palladium, platinum, and gold chloride. The final collection of prints was matted and set to this poem by William Carlos Williams, The World Contracted to a Recognizable Image.
Early in my photographic career, I periodically made self-portraits. These were made between 1994-1996. Again, all made using combinations of platinum, palladium, and gold chloride.
