WHERE EARTH MEETS SKY
The pictures above are all part of a series I called Where Earth Meets Sky, made between 1999-2004. These are all richly produced silver gelatin prints, toned with various combinations of gold, selenium, and copper. These series was composed by photographing water, ice, windows, and maps and globes, each of these different things conceived as a metaphor for understanding physical and spiritual realities.
PLATINUM/PALLADIUM
COLORADO 1993-1996
These are platinum/palladium prints of photographs made in and around the Denver metro area, primarily in Commerce City (a city of petroleum refineries), Rocky Mountain Arsenal (a weapons manufacturing site during World War II, now a wildlife sanctuary), and the Denver Airport. These are all 5x7 prints, made using an old Russian built, World War II era 5x7, printed in combinations of platinum and palladium under the rich Colorado sun.
