A WORK-IN-PROGRESS
THE WESTERN BALKANS
After a little over 10-years developing a number or projects in Indonesia - including work as a curator, writer, and photographer - I've recently switched my geographical interest to the Western Balkans/former Yugoslavia. Like my work in Indonesia, I am pursuing an interdisciplinary approach; I have already published several years on photography in the region and have several more in the works. I've also pursued residencies in Split, Croatia and Novi Sad, Serbia.
The pictures here reflect two different parts of this larger project. These first pictures were made in Utica, NY, where I am working closely with the Bosnian American Community Association to develop a NYSCA funded project about the city's Bosnian immigrant community.

And then next set of pictures below were all made while working as an artist-in-residence at the KURS Association in Split, Croatia.
