Almost three years ago, I started a long term project in Indonesia. I organized an exhibition of work by contemporary photographers working in Java. This exhibition will be the first devoted to work by Indonesian photographers in the United States, opening in January at the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University. Additionally, I am putting a book together that is co-published by Cornell University and Afterhours Books. It's all coming together. Yesterday, I made the final approval of the book proofs, and today the art handlers began collecting the work in Java, preparing to bring it all to New York next week. It feels amazing to see this all coming together. More info about the book and exhibition soon!
