I am pleased to share the news that for the second time in 3 years, I am returning to the MacDowell Colony. I will be spending 3 and a half weeks at the colony working to finalize one of my next books, A History of Photography in Indonesia: From the Colonial Era to the Digital Age. I hope to share more news about this project and my time at MacDowell soon!
My first book on Indonesian photography, Identity Crisis: Reflections on Public and Private Life in Contemporary Javanese Photography, has made its way into a number of important library collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Indonesian Visual Arts Archive, the Eastman Museum of Photography, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.
